The Stewartville girls basketball team claimed seventh place in the Pacesetter Sweet 16 Championships on Aug. 4-5 at the College of St. Benedict. The Tigers defeated Grand Rapids 61-44, lost to Stillwater 72-42, lost to Waseca 42-32 and beat New Ulm 60-51. In this annual event, Pacesetter invites leading teams from Class 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A for a single-class summer showcase. Pacesetter conducts basketball and volleyball camps, as well as basketball tournaments in five states.
