After leading the Stewartville boys basketball team to a 25-6 record and a runner-up finish in Section 1AA, junior Will Tschetter was recognized for his talents. The 6'8 standout forward led the state of Minnesota in scoring, as he racked up 1,036 points this past season. He recorded a double-double average of 33.4 points per game (ppg) and 10.7 rebounds per game (rpg). In doing so, Tschetter posted some impressive percentages, including, 65.3 percent from two-point range, 45.0 percent from beyond the arc and 83.8 percent from the free throw line. Tschetter's abilities earned him several postseason accolades, including HVL All-Conference, Post Bulletin All-Area First Team and being named to the Associated Press (AP) Minnesota All-State First Team. Stier honored Junior point guard Nolan Stier was also recognized for his talents that helped the Tiger boys basketball team capture the HVL Conference Championship. Stier was selected a HVL All-Conference player and was named to as a Post Bulletin All-Area Honorable Mention as he ran the floor, averaging 14.0 ppg, 5.6 rpg and 4.6 assists per game (apg) this past season. Welch honored After finishing her career with 1,627 points, Lily Welch became the leading scorer in Stewartville girls basketball history. During her senior season, Welch averaged 18.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.5 apg and 1.9 steals per game (spg), as well as boasting an incredible 86 percent accuracy from the free throw line. She sank 38 consecutive free throws during a stretch this past season. Welch, who led the Tiger girls to a 20-9 record this past season, was named as All State Honorable Mention and Academic All-State. She was selected to the Post Bulletin All-Area First Team and earned HVL All-Conference honors. Quam honored Senior guard Olivia Quam also earned HVL All-Conference and Academic All-State honors. Quam averaged 3.8 ppg, 4 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.9 spg. She was selected to the All Conference team by HVL coaches for being known as the league's best lockdown defender. Peterson honored Junior guard Maia Peterson was named HVL All Conference honorable mention. She averaged 7.8 ppg, 4 rpg, 2.6 apg and 2.1 spg. Peterson was one of the top three players in three statistical categories for the Tiger girls. Malone, Buckmeier honored Senior guard Kailee Malone and senior forward Anna Buckmeier earned MSHSL Academic All State honors.
