Freshman Dawson Peterson bowled a 91.90 fill percent, leading the Stewartville/Grand Meadow bowling team to a berth to the Minnesota High School Bowling State Championships. The state bowling tournament was originally scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, but recent COVID-19 mandate restrictions have postponed the event.
Peterson carries a 217 average and is currently ranked No. 1 among high school bowlers in the state. This season he has recorded 123 strikes, 36 spares and 14 opens in 173 total frames and led the three-member Tiger team to a 14-1 record and South East (West) Conference championship title.
"Anchor is a perfect term for Dawson," Tiger coach Shane Uptagrafft praised. "He is a quality leader who keeps the team motivated and always comes through for the team."
