Lucille Lois Soltow was born on March 22, 1927 in rural Ossian, Iowa to Paul and Lois (Goldsworthy) Soltow. She moved with her family as her father's farm work changed during the Depression, attending country schools in Iowa and attending and graduating from Canton High School in 1946.
Lucille was married on Sept. 24, 1946 at her parent's home in Canton to Ruben C. Ginapp. The couple farmed near Ellendale before moving to rural Sargeant, where they farmed and raised their family. Lucille, with the help of her family, operated Country Greenhouse and Nursery for over 30 years. A seasonal greenhouse, she sold seedlings, saplings and wedding and funeral floral arrangements. She continued to make her home on the Ginapp family farmstead until 2017. Lucille was a longtime active member of St. Johns Lutheran Church volunteering with its ladies aid activities and teaching Sunday and Bible school. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and canning and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan - win or lose! She enjoyed playing and winning at cards and collected three china cabinets worth of salt and pepper shakers. Lucille enjoyed time spent visiting with friends and loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
