Funeral service for Sharon Schneckloth Sept. 9 at Immanuel Lutheran

The funeral service for Sharon M. Schneckloth, 75, of High Forest, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley, with Rev. Mark Friedberg officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Schneckloth died on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, following a lengthy illness at the Stewartville Care Center, where she had been a resident since March of this year.
Sharon Marie Clark was born on Jan. 14, 1944 in rural Rochester, to Robert and Elva (Glynn) Clark. She grew up in rural High Forest, attended Stewartville schools, graduating from Stewartville High School in 1962.
Sharon was married on July 20, 1963 at Immanuel Lutheran Church to DeWayne Schneckloth. Following their marriage the couple moved to High Forest, where they raised their kids and have continued to make their home. Sharon was a homemaker and was employed as a Nurse's Aide for 35 years at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester until her retirement in 1994. She was a recipient of the Care Sword Award during her tenure as a Mayo Clinic employee. Following her retirement she was employed as a nanny by several families in Rochester and also was an in-home elder care provider for a few years. DeWayne was employed for a number of year as a mechanic at several area dealerships before owning and operating 3-D Auto Electric in Stewartville for over 20 years, until his retirement in 2000. Mr. Schneckloth died on June 25, 2014. Sharon was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley and was active with its ladies aid. She enjoyed baking, cooking and entertaining in her home, camping with her family and watching game shows. She enjoyed time spent with friends and loved time spent with the family she was so proud of, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
Sharon's family wishes to thank the staff at the Stewartville Care Center and Season's Hospice for their loving support and care. And as Sharon always used to say with that smile on her face, "Thanks for comin!"
Sharon is survived by her son, Mike (Annette) of Mantorville; her daughter, Vicki (Rusty) Holz of Dexter; seven grandchildren, Andrea Skorupski, Jeremy (Haley) Skorupski, Jason Skorupski, Jacob (Tosha) Wise, Nickolai Schneckloth, Michaela Schneckloth and Trevor Holz; eight great-granddaughters, McKenzie, Abby, Addy, Ashlyn, Charlotte, Zoey, Alexis and Olivia; one brother, Bob (Jan) Clark of Rosemont, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, DeWayne, her parents, three halfsisters, Margie Kirschbaum, Marian Biers and Joyce Syverson, and five halfbrothers, Kenneth Clark, Milton Clark, Gordon Clark, Richard Clark and Walter Oldenburg .
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday morning.
Sharon's family suggests memorials to Seasons Hospice or the Stewartville Care Center.
