11/27/2019 12:08:00 PM Memorial services for Jim Fynboh planned in Sauk Centre and in Stewartville
James (Jim) Fynboh, 82, of Sauk Centre, and Mission, Tex, - loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend - passed away on Nov. 18, 2019.
Jim was born on Feb. 4, 1937 to Howard and Anastasia Fynboh. He served in the military and was stationed in Korea. He was a devout Catholic and an enthusiastic critic of the sermons. He was a beloved science teacher and coach in Onamia and Stewartville, and was inducted into the Stewartville Sports Hall of Fame. He was a lifelong scientist who continued to work toward his Ph.D. in biology. Most notably, Jim was an aspiring comedian, a voracious reader, and will be dearly missed by Barnes and Noble. He was an avid golfer, hitting two holes-in-one. His untimely passing negates all his golfing debts, and he is survived by many golfing buddies.
Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Dianne (Knutson), and his son, Mark.
He is survived by his brother, Bill (Susan) Fynboh; his sister, Karen (Jim) Morgan; his second wife, Jo Ann (Lentz) Fynboh; their children, Robyn (Joe) Panico, Peter (Wendy) Fynboh, Michael (Susan) Rolfes, Mary Jo (Stan) Lo, Dale (Shari) Rolfes, and Janell (Jeff) Berggren; their grandchildren, Annie, Emma, and Michael Panico; Tyler and Hannah Fynboh; Jack (Claire Wiese), James, Paul, and Molly Rolfes; Claire and Michael Lo; Abbi (Kyle) Imdieke, Katie (Mason Moore), and Isabelle Rolfes; Jessica (Mike Miller) and John Berggren; and many dear nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating Jim's life and the gifts he gave so many, will be held on Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre; as well as on Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Stewartville. At the Stewartville celebration, there will be opportunities for individuals to share special memories and stories.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Sauk Centre Food Shelf, 523 Sinclair Lewis Ave, Sauk Centre, MN 56378 (next door to the Next Door Bar).
