1/13/2021 10:45:00 AM Celebration of Life for Ruth Thompson to be held this spring
Ruth Mary (Erickson) Thompson, 71, died in St. Croix Hospice at her daughters home surrounded by her family on Jan. 2, 2021, after a short illness with cancer.
Ruth was born on July 14, 1949 in Rochester to Lloyd nd Isabelle (Forte) Erickson. She lived in Spring Valley.
She married Jerry Thompson and they later divorced. She worked and retired at TCS. She was currently working at Elaine's Cafe.
Ruth enjoyed going to Treasure Island and Las Vegas. She was an avid Twins fan. She loved telling jokes and making people laugh and she always had a smile. She loved meeting new people.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Vicki McConnell; granddaughters, Keisha (Carlos) Arcia, Shinead McDonnell (Jose Luis Otero Trinidad), and Kindra (Michael) Baker; Great-grandchildren, Carlos, Zeke, Sevastian, Savannah, and Sabrina; sisters, Marilyn (Dave) Sherman, Joyce Erickson, and Janet Anderson, all of Rochester, Sharon Minter of Stewartville, Carol (Frederick) Higgins of Oronoco, and Diane (Larry) Severson of Hayfield; an aunt, Jeanette Erickson of Rochester and nine nieces and five nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Isabelle Erickson.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2021.
Rochester Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
