Margaret Tjepkes, 86, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2022 at Stewartville Senior Care Center after a short stay. Margaret Hogenson was born Feb. 9, 1936 in Minneapolis. She grew up in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School in 1954. She worked for the Rochester Parks Department, several insurance and law firms before joining IBM as a word processor in manufacturing, eventually transferring to the IBM NASA office in Houston, Texas. She retired in 1994 and returned to Stewartville and worked for the Chamber of Commerce for several years. She is survived by her son, Keith Tjepkes; two grandsons, Bill (Maelene) Tjepkes of Eyota, and Jon Tjepkes of LeRoy; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild born a week before her passing; her sister, Alice (Tom) Ellis of St. Paul; and her brother, George (Kate) Hogenson of Oak Park, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Jeanette Hogenson, and her son, Eric Tjepkes. A private memorial service will be held later. Memorials are suggested to East Saint Olaf Lutheran Church in Rock Dell, for maintenance of Zion Cemetery. Arrangements and services are by Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy.
