Celebration of Life for Gloria Ayshford July 30 in Pleasant Grove

Gloria Mable June (Kvam) Ayshford, 94, of Champlin, formerly a Stewartville resident, passed away of natural causes at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, March 6, 2022.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Myrtle (Hebranson) Kvam; her husband, Alvin Loren Ayshford; her siblings, Donald Torgenrud, Phyllis Wiltfang, Joseph Kvam, and Roger Kvam.
Gloria is survived by her sister, Patricia Hoehn of Champlin; her brother, Frank Kvam of Hudson, Wisconsin; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gloria married Al on Oct. 20, 1946 at the United Methodist Church in Stewartville. Following their marriage the couple farmed in rural Stewartville for several years. Later they moved to St.Paul, where Gloria established a career in the accounting department at the General Motors Co.
Following their retirement, Gloria and Al moved to a hobby farm in River Falls, Wisconsin. Then in 1996 they moved again to Hot Springs, Arkansas, for health reasons. After Al's death in 2013, the following year Gloria returned to Minnesota, and made her home with her best friend and devoted sister Pat, until the time of her passing.
Gloria was truly a wonder, a lover and champion of animals, she enjoyed nature, music and art. And at nearly 95 years of age, she was a loyal basketball fan of the Minnesota Lynx and Timberwolves; however, Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors was her most favorite player! She was sharp as a tack and kept up with current events. She was often overwhelmed by the hate and divisiveness in today's world; however, she remained hopeful for change. She prayed often for humanity and will continue to watch over us all. She is dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., at the Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove. Due to warm weather, guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and an umbrella.
Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville. Condolences and memories of Gloria are welcome at
