Linda C. McGulpin, 73, of Stewartville, died on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023 of natural causes, at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, where she had been a resident since April 2022. Linda Carol McGulpin was born on June 28, 1949 in Minneapolis to Edwin and Elaine (Butler) McGulpin. She grew up in Minneapolis until the age of seven, when she moved with her family to Bloomington. She attended school there and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1967. She lived with her parents for some years until getting her own apartment in Apple Valley. Linda was employed as a sales clerk and secretary in the car rental industry. She was employed as a caregiver at a REM house in Bloomington where her duties included answering the phones, record keeping and helping the residents with their medications. Upon retiring in 2015, she moved to the Downtowner II Apartments in Stewartville to live near her brother Gary and his family. In early spring 2014, Linda became a born-again Christian and began reading her Bible and living the Christian life. Throughout her lifetime she enjoyed her horse and cats. Linda is survived by her brother, Gary (Barb) McGulpin of Stewartville and their three children; Matt (Sarah) McGulpin and their two children; Joanne McGulpin; and Michelle McGulpin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David McGulpin. In keeping with Linda's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services or visitation.
