Paula Hammitt and Benjamin Sass were married July 9 at St. Michael the Archangel Chapel, Fort Bragg, NC in a formal military ceremony, with the couple passing under a saber arch as they left the chapel.

Paula is the daughter of Paul and Louise Hammitt of San Antonio, TX. She entered Active Duty in the Army in 2006 after graduating from Adams State College in 2004. Her first duty station was Fort Campbell, KY where she spent three years, deploying once to Iraq. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Terrorism and Security from Walden University.

Ben is the son of Owen and Virginia Sass of Stewartville and is a 1998 graduate of Stewartville High School. He attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, and entered Active Duty in the Army after graduation in 2004. His first duty station was Fort Campbell, KY where he spent five years, deploying twice to Iraq. He is currently working on his Masters of Science in Management with an emphasis in Homeland Security from Colorado Technical University.

After a weeklong honeymoon in the Dominican Republic they returned to Raeford, NC where they reside. Paula and Ben are stationed at Fort Bragg, NC where they both work as Military Intelligence Officers in the 82nd Airborne Division.

The couple met while working on Brigade Staff for 2BCT, 101ST Airborne Division (AA), Fort Campbell, KY where they worked together on several projects.
