Jared Schaefer and Katie Hamson announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Jared is the son of Mark and Laura Schaefer of Taopi. He is a graduate of Southland High School and South Dakota State University. He is employed by CHS in Ostrander as a grain merchandiser and farms steers within the Adams area.
Katie, the daughter of Howard Hamson of Manly, Iowa, and Nancy Hamson of Albert Lea, graduated from United South Central High School of Wells, Minnesota. She is also a graduate of South Dakota State University and Augsburg College. She is a special education teacher at Bonner Elementary in Stewartville. Katie also coaches volleyball for the Stewartville School District.
Jared and Katie will be married on Sept. 2, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg, Minnesota.
