The Stewartville High School girls basketball team captured sixth place among 16 teams in the power-packed Pacesetter Sweet 16 State Tournament Aug. 6-7 at College of St. Benedict. The Sweet 16, in its 31st year, is the most prestigious summer hoops tournament, an invitation-only event with the state's top four teams from classes 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A competing against each other. Stewartville defeated New Ulm 80-60 and lost to Minnetonka 63-56 on Saturday. The Tigers beat Underwood 73-48 and lost to Providence Academy 86-83 on Sunday.
