Avoiding regret is a wise decision, Patrick Breen told the Stewartville High School class of 2022 last week.
Breen, principal of Stewartville High School, was one of the featured speakers at the annual commencement ceremony at the SHS gym on Sunday afternoon, June 5.
He recalled that after his freshman year of high school, his dad offered him and his brothers $100 each if they woke up before 10 a.m. each day during the summer.
"I realize today how pathetic that challenge sounds, but when you're in high school, a 10 a.m. wakeup call in the summer is pretty ambitious," Breen said. "I'd guess some of you graduates would agree."
As it turned out, Breen's dad never had to pay Breen or his brothers a dime...
