Emily Sullivan has a special place in her heart for the National Wheelchair Sports Camp.
Sullivan, 18, a 2022 graduate of Le Sueur High School, says she has attended the camp at Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch, just west of Stewartville, every year since about 2011.
She loves everything about it, including horseback riding, adaptive water skiing, and riding the zip line.
Horseback riding is special because it gives her a chance to sit tall in a saddle rather than close to the ground in her wheelchair.
"It's nice not being at butt-level with everybody," she said with a smile.
As an adaptive water skier, she likes moving fast across the water with the wind and the water spray in her face.
"It was awesome to come to camp and say, 'Oh cool, I can do water skiing,' " she said...
