Audiences will enjoy a cast of delightful characters when Stewartville High School-Middle School presents Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Jr. at the Performing Arts Center beginning this Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m.
So says Chris Kuisle, director of the show, who calls Willy Wonka Jr. a similar rendition of the 1970s movie version of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, with a slightly modern twist.
"It's a slightly condensed presentation of the original Broadway version," he said.
Willy Wonka Jr. will present the same songs as the original version, including The Candy Man and Pure Imagination.
The cast and crew includes almost 50 students in grades six through 12. Rehearsals, which began on March 9, have been going well, Kuisle said...
