Tyler Isbell of Rochester won the second annual Summerfest Disc Golf Tournament at the Bear Cave Park Disc Golf Course on Sunday, July 2.
Isbell finished with a seven-under par 52 on the par-59 course, tying for the 18-hole lead with Austin Doda of Cresco, Iowa and Trenedy Burzette of Spring Valley. Isbell won the title in a three-way shootout on the first hole.
Ninety players took part in this year's tournament, up from 73 a year ago.
"Many players thoroughly enjoyed the tournament this year, I'd say even more so than last year," said Scott Boelman, tournament director.
This year's tournament offered the players additional activities and the opportunity to earn more awards, Boelman said. For example, a radar gun measured players' throwing strength, with participants taking turns attempting to launch the fastest disc. Zach Jaeger, the winner of the 2022 Summerfest Tournament, won the event with a tomahawk throw of 80 miles per hour.
