Julia Smith enjoyed meeting her students and their parents at Bonner Elementary School last week.
Smith is one of many teachers who took part in the Stewartville School District's "Meet the Teacher" event on Tuesday, Sept. 7 and Wednesday, Sept. 8.
"I think it's a great thing," said Smith, set to start her second year as a second-grade teacher at Bonner. "It's great for the students to first see the classroom and get comfortable with it, so on the first day of the school year they're familiar with it."
Smith met a parent or parents of all 21 of her students, including 13 on Sept. 7 and eight more on Sept. 8...
