For about seven years running, Ted Skare and his mule, Rocky, have competed in the equestrian events at the Olmsted County Fair.
After all those years, Skare knows the 31 year-old Rocky like a good friend.
"He can be stubborn or easy-going," he said. "It depends on the day for him. He is a gentle giant."
Skare, a junior-to-be at Stewartville High School and a member of the High Forest Chippewa Champions 4-H Club, has learned what it takes to get Rocky ready for the fair...
