Ava Faupel and Lydia Fryer are the new pages at the Stewartville Public Library.
It didn't take them long to explain why they wanted to work there.
"For me, I have had friends in the past who have had this position, and they really enjoyed it," Fryer said. "I wanted a job close to home in our community, in a place I knew well."
Faupel said she loves the peace and quiet of a library.
"I've always felt comforted by books," she said. "I've always liked the library environment."
Seniors at Stewartville High School, they both plan to work as pages through the 2021-22 school year and into summer 2022. Since their recent hirings, they've worked about 20 hours a week, reshelving books, checking out books to patrons, placing jacket covers on books, and more...
