Blaine M. Halvorson died on Sept. 12, 2021 following a tragic vehicle accident on Sept. 8, 2021.
His last acts of heroism included pushing his wife, Ashley, to safety, and saving many lives through organ donations.
Blaine, a 2012 Kasson-Mantorville High School graduate, knew at a young age that he wanted to be a Marine and serve his country. He served as a combat engineer in North Carolina, South Carolina, California and Japan. He was honored to be selected to serve as a Marine Security Guard and served a year in Africa, a year in China, and his final year in Quantico, Virginia, training others to guard our embassies.
He is survived by the love of his life, Ashley Halvorson of Ridgeland, South Carolina; his parents, Jerry and Melissa Halvorson of Kasson; his sister, Mickaela Halvorson of Kasson; his mother and father-in-law, Andy and Kim Miller of Ridgeland, South Carolina; hisbrother-in-law, Rob Miller of Ridgeland, South Carolina; and his grandmothers, grandmothers, Suze Anderson of Byron and Judy Hughes of Waterloo, Iowa; as well as hundreds of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
He is welcomed in Heaven by his paternal grandparents Dick and Ceil Halvorson, and maternal grandfather Gary Hughes.
Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
Services are pending. May he rest in peace.
