The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is overseeing a two-year project to improve the Interstate 90, Highway 63 intershange just north of Stewartville. MnDOT, in an online notice, said the project will address several existing conditions at the intersection, including safety, congestion, functionally obsolete bridges, inadequate deceleration, acceleration and merge lanes, and sight issues. As of Monday, April 20, the day the project was scheduled to start, workers had lined the sides of Hwy. 63 north of Stewartville with orange and white warning barrels.
