Members of the Stewartville American Legion Post 164 fired into the air to salute America’s veterans during the Summerfest mini-parade, which started near the Legion on July 4.

Although the Stewartville Area Chamber of Commerce's 2020 Summerfest celebration was a scaled-down version of the annual Fourth of July extravaganza, Chamber Administrator Gwen Ravenhorst was very pleased with this year's event.
Even with the coronavirus (COVID-19) on everyone's minds, Summerfest 2020 was successful and filled with many good memories, Ravenhorst said.
"I've been working and helping plan Summerfest since 2014, and I think this was the best Summerfest yet," she said. "We had so many businesses, organizations and people come together to make it happen with sponsorship money and participation. The members of our Board of Directors were champs. They were adamant about not cancelling it..."
