Joya Stetson of Community Economic Development Associates (CEDA), left, and Karla Strain, city finance director, told the City Council last week that the city’s Economic Development Authority has distributed $179,700.51 to local businesses, or 38.24 percent of the $469,897 in CARES Act funding the city of Stewartville received earlier this year.

Twenty-seven Stewartville businesses received $6,000 each and two others received almost $5,000 each for a total of $169,821.12 in CARES Act funding to help them through the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Joya Stetson and Karla Strain shared that information with the Stewartville City Council last week. Stetson, the director of marketing for Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA) of Chatfield, works with the local EDA to attract new businesses and support existing companies in Stewartville. Strain, the city's finance director, recently joined Stetson to distribute the CARES Act funding to the 29 businesses and organizations...
