Looking forward to updating the city of Stewartville's comprehensive plan, city leaders have invited local residents to get involved in the process. The City Council, at its regular meeting last week, unanimously approved a proposal that encourages public participation in the comprehensive planning. Mayor Jimmie-John King and councilpersons Craig Anderson, Brent Beyer, Jeremiah Oeltjen and Josh Arndt all approved the public participation plan. Cheryl Roeder, city clerk, wrote a memo to the City Council stating the new plan will be designed to create a vision for city of Stewartville for 2042. The City Council, at a meeting this past April, agreed to hire Short Elliott Hendrickson (SEH), the city's engineering firm, as a consultant to assist with the city's comprehensive planning. Brea Grace, senior community development specialist for SEH and the project manager for comprehensive planning, told the City Council last week public participation will be an important part of the process...
