The swimmers are back at the Stewartville pool.
The City Council, at its regular meeting last week, voted 4-1 to open the pool at 50 percent capacity beginning on Monday, June 15.
Mayor Jimmie-John King and councilpersons Craig Anderson, Jeremiah Oeltjen and Josh Arndt also agreed that swimmers must follow the city's safety guidelines to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and need not live in the Stewartville School District.
Councilperson Brent Beyer was the lone dissenting voter, saying he preferred that the pool open only to Stewartville School District children and their families until Gov. Walz reduces the state's restrictions on pool capacity...
