Sharon Moehnke serves the community in many ways, outgoing Stewartville Morning Lions Club president Dave Hoot told club members at a recent meeting.
Moehnke is the club's tail twister, spicing the club's meetings with plenty of humor. She also wears the club's lion suit as she stands outside Pizza Ranch on the club's tip nights.
She helps with the club's Avenue of Flags initiative, teaming with her husband, Dick, to place American flags near homes in the city of Racine, Hoot said.
"And when we do White Cane Days over at Casey's, most of our members do that for an hour," Hoot said. "Sharon stays all day."
Thanks in large part to her leadership and dedication as a member of the Morning Lions Club, Moehnke has been named the recipient of the club's Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for 2019-20.
