The High Forest Township staff, with input from the city of Stewartville and its residents, has proposed 44 conditions developer Jessup DeCook would have to meet if he receives an interim use permit to mine sand and gravel near the Stewartville city limits.
Roger Ihrke and David Meier, administrators for the Township Cooperative Planning Association (TCPA), have listed the conditions in an online notice to High Forest officials.
Northeast Stewartville residents oppose the mining, saying it would take place too close to the city limits, increase traffic, noise and air pollution, and adversely affect area wildlife.
More conditions may be added during the interim use process, officials say...
