The High Forest Township staff, with input from the city of Stewartville and its residents, has come up with a list of 44 proposed conditions developer Jessup DeCook would have to meet if he receives an interim use permit to mine sand and gravel near the Stewartville city limits. Northeast Stewartville residents oppose the mining, saying it would take place too close to the city limits, increase traffic, noise and air pollution, lower their property values and adversely affect area wildlife.
