City officials have approved a flexible plan for allocating $469,897 in federal Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) money.
The funds, distributed to cities through the state of Minnesota, will be used to mitigate the risk of spreading the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Karla Strain, finance director, wrote a memo to the Council explaining that the funds must be used to pay for the city's direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic between March 1 and Nov. 15. The money could also be used to pay for second-order effects from the pandemic, such as providing economic support to those suffering from unemployment or business interruptions or closures, she wrote...
