The Stewartville Lions Club is working together to help people in need.
About 35 Lions Club members and a number of non-Lion volunteers are ringing bells to help raise funds for the Rochester Salvation Army.
The Lions, working in two-hour shifts, have been stationed at the entrance to Fareway, Stewartville's grocery store, since Friday, Nov. 13.
Chuck Murphy, chair of the Lions Club Salvation Army bell-ringing kettle drive, said the Lions will continue to ring bells until Saturday, Dec. 19, the last Saturday before Christmas.
The Stewartville Lions have been ringing bells for the Salvation Army for close to 30 years, Murphy said.
"It's gratifying to see what they do with that money," Murphy said. "They don't waste it. They use it to help people..."
