On the ninth day of Christmas, city of Racine officials were in a generous frame of mind.
On Saturday morning, Jan. 2, Mayor Deri Nordsving and City Clerk Rob Mathias handed out 12 iPads to Racine children who attend Stewartville School District schools.
"The event went very well," Mathias said. "The doors opened at 10 a.m., and by 10:20 the event was over. The children received Apple iPads identical to the ones required by the school."
The $5,880 Racine spent for the iPads came from the $33,602 in federal CARES Act dollars the city received, Mathias said. With the additional CARES Act funding, the city spent...
