The Minnesota Vikings sent a special gift to Bonner Elementary School last week, a Vikings-branded flag football kit and curriculum book. The kit includes 30 flag football belts, 30 pinnies, 10 footballs, a kicking tee and a curriculum book that aligns with SHAPE America's National Standards & Grade-Level Outcomes for K-12 physical education. In a letter to Bonner, the Vikings said less than half of today's youth meet the Health & Human Services recommendation of at least 60 minutes of daily physical activity. "We hope this equipment and curriculum book will assist your educators in conducting flag football lessons in your school," the letter said. Front row, from left, are Jude Bleess, a kindergartner at Bonner; Lauren Blake, a first grader; and Luke Leier, a second grader. In back, from left, are Beth Strobel, Bonner physical education teacher, and Zane McInroy, the school's principal.
