Stewartville school leaders have decided to stick with a previous decision to cap open enrollment at 30 kindergartners for the 2020-21 school year.
The School Board voted 6-0 last week to admit a total of 140 kindergartners into Stewartville schools this September, including 30 open-enrolled students who live outside the local district.
Rebecca Wortman, School Board chair; and members Ryan Ravenhorst, Will Welch, and Lori Miller-Beach, present at the Central Education Center, and members Dean Mikel and Todd Emanuel, virtually present, all approved the decision. Board member Nichol O'Neill was absent.
