After finishing 2-2 at the Denver Duals in Iowa on Jan. 25, the Stewartville wrestling team dropped a pair at a Jan. 30 HVL Triangular, losing 42-30 to host Byron and succumbing 57-12 to Class A, No. 11 Zumbrota-Mazeppa. After going 2-4 during the six-match stint, the Tiger record fell to 8-12 overall.
In Iowa, the Tigers lost their first match 75-0 to Fennimore, lost 42-33 to Mid-Prairie, won 48-33 over Sioux City East and won 47-27 over Garner-Hayfield/Ventura.
In the triangular, Parker Theobald pinned his 285-pound ZM foe to showcase Stewie in its first match while pins by Jon Laures at 113 pounds, Riley Schwichtenberg at 145, Keegan Zelinske at 160 and Christian Sackett at 182 racked up 24 of the team's 30 points scored on Byron.
