Haylie Strum, a first-time 5K racer and new member to the Stewartville girls cross country team, became the No. 1 runner, debuting in her first varsity meet, when she led the Tigers to 27 points and a first-place finish at the season's first triangular against Rochester Lourdes and Zumbrota-Mazeppa in Stewie on Sept. 3. Girls 1st at Byron Triangular Stewartville went on the road expecting a close race with Byron and came home 14 points better than Byron and 46 points better than Pine Island to win the Byron triagular on Sept. 10.
