6/1/2020 9:20:00 AM Private family service for Ross Robertson planned
Ross Warren Robertson, age 89, of Rochester, died at his home on Saturday, May 30, 2020.
Ross was born on Jan. 7, 1931 to William and Marie Robertson of Dodge Center.
He married Delores Elaine Keith on April 10, 1954 at Homestead Church in Rochester. They resided in Stewartville, where they raised their five children.
Growing up as a young man, Ross farmed for many years. He then worked at the Mayo Clinic for 25 years. After retirement Ross and Delores moved to Osage, where his family helped build the family cabin. During winter months, Ross and Delores spent time in Yuma, Ariz. Ross looked forward to family coming to visit.
Ross enjoyed playing softball, bowling, hunting, fishing from his pontoon boat, and traveling the United States in their RV. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan and made sure he never missed a Twins game. Ross will be remembered as a quiet man with a huge heart, a warm smile, and always willing to listen to what you had to say. However, what was most important to Ross was spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Delores of 66 years and his children, Debra (Thomas) Allen of Rochester, Diane (James) Sackett of Rochester, Doreen (Thomas) Jennrich of Hastings, Rebecca (Paul) Panser of Champlin, and Robert (Victoria) Robertson of Stewartville. He leaves 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie Robertson, brothers, Dale Robertson, Richard Robertson, and Raymond Robertson, and sisters, Fern Baker, Lucille Musolf, Donna Vrieze, Laura Podein, and Florence Robertson.
