Memorial service for DuWayne Louks July 21 at Stewartville UMC

DuWayne K. Louks, 78, of Stewartville, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2020 at Season's Hospice in Rochester with family by his side.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 4 p.m. at Stewartville United Methodist Church with Rev. Laura Nordstrom officiating. Due to health concerns, masks will be required (and available). Social distancing will also be observed (no handshakes, hugs, etc.) Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
DuWayne Kenneth Louks was born on May 26, 1942, in Owatonna, to Wilbur and Emma (Ficken) Louks. He was the second youngest of eight children and spent his childhood on the family farm in rural Stewartville. He graduated from Stewartville High School in 1959, where he met and married Judith Ann (Hector) Louks. They raised three children on a small farm near rural Grand Meadow. In addition to farm life, Duke worked for Marigold Dairy in Rochester for 40 years until his retirement in 2000. Then Duke and Judy lived in Mountain View, Arkansas for 10 years before returning to Stewartville in 2010. Mrs. Louks died on Jan. 12, 2011. Duke was a longtime member of the Stewartville United Methodist Church. He resided for the past two years at the Stewartville Care Center. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, reading, fishing, boating, gardening and pets (especially their dog, "Buddy").
Duke is survived by his three children, Robin Williams of Rochester, Cindy (Ken) Meyerhofer of rural Stewartville, and Gary (Colleen) Louks of Stewartville; six grandchildren including Steven (Sonya) Meyerhofer, Jason (Melissa) Meyerhofer, Andrew (Nicole) Meyerhofer, Rebecca (Matt) Wildeman, Christina (Rudy) Raatz, and Michael Louks; 11 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Phyllis Podein and Richard Louks, both of Stewartville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, his parents, four sisters and a twin brother.
A private family burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville.
Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville. On-line condolences and memories of Duke are welcome at www.griffin-gray.com
