Carly Ann Sweet, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 17, 2020 in Mankato.
She was born Aug. 19, 1998 in Rochester, to Ricky Lee Sweet and Christine Diane Dirschel. Carly attended Stewartville Schools, graduating in 2016. She went on to attend Mankato State University from September 2016 to 2018. In 2019 she graduated with an associate degree in human services from RCTC. Carly was set to graduate in December 2020, with her associate degree in nursing. Carly was currently working as a CNA at the Spring Valley Living Center in Spring Valley.
Carly had a beautiful smile, a heart of gold, and she loved helping people. She loved all animals, especially dogs. Her face would light up when she talked about her best friend and soulmate, Willie, and their beloved dog Beau. Her last name alone explains how 'sweet' she was to everyone she knew. Carly had a strong work ethic which she developed at a young age. She was close to having her dreams come true by beginning her nursing career, and had so much drive and determination to succeed in life. Carly was a loyal friend to many, and was looking forward to her role as a bridesmaid in two of her friend's upcoming weddings.
She will be forever missed by her parents and family, her father, Ricky Lee (Kathy Klingsporn) Sweet of Byron; mother, Christine Diane Dirschel of Stewartville; brothers, Brandon Thomas (Cassidy Kavitz) Sweet, and Michael (Missy) Dirschel; best friend and soulmate, Willie Hughes; paternal grandmother, Joy Mae Swee;, maternal grandparents, Gerald and Luann Dirschel and Judith Aho; nephews, Jayson Anderson and Gabriel Dirschel; uncles and aunts, Curt and Kathi Sweet and Steven Dirschel; cousins, Nic (Shannon) Sweet, Savannah Sweet (Troy), Kari (Nick) Marquardt, Bonnie Kostel, Timothy Groszbach, Brittany Wiebold andPenelope Groszbach; and many other cousins, close friends, and her dog, Beau.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Myron Sweet, and Uncle Bob Sweet, and Aunt Julie Dirschel.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 23, at 1 p.m. at the Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, with Deacon John DeStazio officiating. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Elgin Cemetery. Family requests everyone to wear a mask for the visitation and service and practice the COVID-19 social distancing.
