Peter J. Biffert, 48, a resident of Austin, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020 at his home. He passed away of natural causes.
Peter James Biffert was born on Dec. 21, 1971, in Antigo, Wisconsin to Paul and Colleen (Comfort) Biffert. His dad was an Assembly of God minister and Peter moved often with his family as a young boy and teenager following his dad's calls to new churches. He attended Winona High School in Winona, and later earned his GED. He helped his grandpa on the farm with haying and harvest duties, chasing cattle in for milking, and had a paper route in Tioga, North Dakota. After high school, there were the usual starting experiences at Hardees, Taco Bell, then more constructive jobs: Ashley Furniture in Fountain City, Wisconsin, Badger Foundry and Economy Cab in Winona. He enjoyed driving and was employed at Star Limousine Company which became Med-City Taxi in Rochester, for five years. He drove for Phillips Bus Service in Winona, K & S McAtee Trucking in Stewartville, and McNeilus Trucking in Dodge Center. He most recently was employed driving dump truck for Damel Corporation, Inc. in Austin. Peter was a member of Assembly of God Church in Stewartville and as a member of the worship team, loved to praise the Lord in song. He helped Stephen, his brother, with Royal Rangers on campouts and other outings and they also enjoyed working on cars, as well as buying and selling them. Peter enjoyed going to gospel concerts, movies, and spending time with his family. Family and friends alike enjoyed his culinary skills and delicious food - pizzas, egg rolls, wraps, smoking meat and grilling out. Peter was a loving, giving, thoughtful and joyful son, brother, husband, father and uncle. He was lovingly referred to as a 'gentle giant.'
Peter is survived by his wife, Crizel Biffert of Floridablanca, Pampanga (Philippines); his daughter, Raven Sneed of Winona; a stepdaughter, Dan-Bi of Floridablanca, Pampanga (Philippines); his mother, Colleen Biffert of Oswego, Illinois; two sisters, Stephanie (Louis) Chisanga of Palatine, Illinois, and Paula (Rick) Hackbarth of Oswego, Illinois; two brothers, Stephen (Trista) Biffert of Stewartville and Tim (Jenn) Biffert of West Jordan, Utah; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Paul Biffert.
