Brian E. Vanderburg, 58, of Stewartville, died on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 at his home from complications of a short illness with cancer.
Brian Edward Vanderburg was born on May 29, 1962 in Rochester, to Robert and Arlene (Harris) Vanderburg. He grew up in Pleasant Grove and attended Stewartville schools, graduating from Stewartville High School in 1980. He was employed at Brogan Heating in Rochester for a few years before his employment at AES in Racine, where he was an electrical technician rebuilding agriculture and automotive engine parts. He enjoyed working at AES for over 20 years until his health caused him to work part-time. He moved to Stewartville in 1993, where he has continued to make his home. Brian enjoyed music, especially classic rock, feeding and watching the birds in his yard and spending time with family.
Brian is survived by one sister and one brother, Shari (Virgil) Elliott of Rochester and Bruce Vanderburg of rural Chatfield; and two nephews, Jason Elliott and Bradley Elliott.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Due to public health concerns no visitation or service will be held at this time. A private family burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
