Funeral service for Jan Hinck June 4 at Ranfranz and Vine in Rochester

Janet Kay (Enderson) Hinck, 68, of Stewartville, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021.
Jan was born to James and Joanne Enderson in Rochester on May 16, 1953. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1971 and went on to earn a degree in the then pioneering field of respiratory therapy.
She married Tracy Hinck and they made their home in Stewartville, where they raised six children.
Jan worked as a respiratory therapist at Mayo Clinic for 42 years. She loved her job, her colleagues, and her patients, many of whom were deeply impacted by her compassion and encouragement during some of the hardest days of their lives. She loved the ICU and enjoyed the challenge and intensity of the Rapid Response Team.
Gardening was her passion. Jan kept several gardens at her home and found joy in growing and sharing "oodles" of vegetables. Anyone who visited in late summer went home with a load. She enjoyed cooking and baking and, as always, giving away the fruits of her labor; treats, breads, canned foods, and entire meals were prepared and shared generously. She loved to bring her grandchildren their favorite fruits and earned the fitting nickname "Grandma Blueberry" by one who loved blueberries.
Before her failing health, Jan's thoughts and plans centered around her kids, grandbabies, and her church family. She was the best wife a man could ask for.
Jan is preceded in death by her father, James Enderson.
She is survived by her husband, Tracy; her children, Amber (James) Barsness, Brittany (Chad) Willard, Caleb (Ashley) Hinck, Deitra Hinck, Emmie (Rhyse) Curtis, and Micah Hinck; her grandchildren, Natalie, Ben, Jacob, Maggie, Luke, and Owen Barsness; Kyan, Parker, and Maizy Willard; and Lexi, Maddie, and Amaya Hinck; her mother, Jo Berry; her four siblings, Sandy and Steve, identical twin sister, Jackie, and Joni; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jan will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The Lord took her from her pain and gave her rest. She is where she has always wanted to be.
A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW in Rochester. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
