8/30/2021 7:37:00 AM Funeral Mass for Frank Twohey planned for Sept. 2
Frank Twohey passed away on Aug. 29, 2021 at his home after a 10- month battle with leukemia.
Frank was born on May 22, 1938 to Clarence and Margaret Twohey. He grew up in the Simpson area and was a lifelong member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church.
On Aug. 22, 1959, Frank married Marilyn Lecy and they had four children. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary with their entire family a week before his passing. Frank was a lifelong farmer and worked at IBM for 33 years.
Frank is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Ed (Sherri) Twohey, Karen (Jerome) Sheehan, and Bill (Jean) Twohey; grandchildren, Theresa (Nick) Reps, Eric Twohey, Tim Twohey, Jessica Twohey, Jacob Twohey, Katherine (Joel) Nelson, Tom (Laura) Sheehan, and Ellen Sheehan; great-grandchildren, Madelynn and Mason Reps, Ada Nelson, and Harrison Sheehan; brothers, Gerald Twohey and Robert (Karen) Twohey; and his dog, Rusty.
Frank was preceded in death by his infant son, James, twin grandsons Matthew and Michael Twohey, parents, and a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Dave Mulvihill.
The Twohey family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff who cared for him, especially Dr. Saliba. Frank received many blood transfusions during his illness. The family is also so appreciative for all of the blood donors at Mayo Clinic, as Frank received many blood transfusions during his illness. These donations enabled him to have more time with his family.
The Funeral Mass for Frank will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Simpson with Rev. Kevin Connolly officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Bridget's Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
